World Animal Day - October 4th

World Animal Day is today, October 4th. How will you participate? Some ideas... Go vegan! Even just for one day. It will help. It really will. Volunteer at a local shelter. Adopt a new animal friend. Do some sort of private or group animal blessing. Make it a party! Attend an event near you, or create one yourself. And most especially, be extra kind to every animal you encounter today!

"World Animal Day was started in 1931 at a convention of ecologists in Florence as a way of highlighting the plight of endangered species. October 4 was chosen as World Animal Day as it is the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. Since then, World Animal Day has become a day for remembering and paying tribute to all animals and the people who love and respect them. It's celebrated in different ways in every country, with no regard to nationality, religion, faith or political ideology."

Agree with you Kim. I have an abandoned pussy cat who I have adopted about 6 years ago now. I also adopt a white tiger and a 'usual' orange tiger called Jasper ! I love to help any and all animals when I can, I also donate regularly to our Cats Protection shop.
